Recap of Session 21

As the last session began, it was the 1st day of the 1st Trigon of Elok’s Influence as the darkness of the evening began to descend upon the Kingdom of Evendor. The party had completed their search of the apparent Doom camp and were preparing to return to Tionchar winery. Everyone’s head spun with the events of the day. A day that had started with such hope and excitement. A day that was ending with much question and despair.

Upon reaching the Tionchar winery manor house, the party was met by Maggie who informed them that High Sister Idda Jinzaknee from the White Realm Temple of Gath was waiting for them in the great room. The sister explained that she could not reach Anton Tionchar’s spirit, and as such, she could not bring him back. Maggie surmised that Anton’s spirit had been pulled through the portal like her mother and the other children.

As the party discussed the situation with Anton, a Vanguard soldier approached and asked that the party come to the main entrance to the winery. As they arrived, they saw a tall, powerful-looking Dragonborn who introduced himself as Kogaan. He explained that he had been searching for the party and could not believe he had finally found them. Kogaan revealed to the group that he had been having visions that included them. He did not understand why, but he knew that he was to join them. The details in the visions and a change in the party picture in Landis’ book convinced them that Kogaan was to join them in whatever they were being pulled toward. With yet another strange twist to this long and trying day, the party all retired to their rooms for a much-needed and overdue rest.

As the morning sun began to peak into the windows of the manor house, the party gathered in the dining room for breakfast. At Maggie’s request, Wardell Evenbreeze joined to discuss the future of the winery. Wardell was Anton’s right-hand man and the person who ran most of the winery’s operations. It was decided that, for now, the winery would operate as if Anton was just away, finish up the production of this season’s wine and prepare the winery for winter. This would give the party time to determine if Anton could be brought back from The Between. Maggie would remain at the winery to assist Wardell and play host to their Gith guests. The party would travel to Praddlepoint to pick up the skyship that Landis’ grandfather had arranged for them and return to the winery. With decisions made, the party departed for the City of Evendor to secure passage on a ship to Vargas in hopes that they could convince Windwalker Travels to fly them to Praddlepoint in Gnome.

The party ended up on The Misty Gray captained by Renya Suntrapper. The voyage was uneventful, and the party arrived at the docks in Vargas early morning on the 4th day of the 1st Trigon of Elok’s Influence. Nightingale was able to locate Malcolm Pederin who informed the party that Windwalker Travels were away and would not return for several days at best. He suggested that the party secure passage on one of the airships that flew out of Vargas and took the party to the Lonely Horizon captained by Bromley North. The ship was secured, and the party departed at high noon for Praddlepoint.

Again, the voyage was uneventful, but it was an excellent opportunity for the Kogaan and the others to get to know each other better. Kogaan proved to be an excellent cook who treated the party and ship’s crew to fantastic meals. With Lafferty’s addition of jugs of ale, the trip was an excellent chance for the party to enjoy some much-needed rest.

Late in the afternoon on the 6th day of the 1st Trigon of Elok’s Influence, the airship docked in Praddlepoint, and the party departed the ship. Lafferty, who lived in Gnome for many years, was able to easily navigate the chaos that is Praddlepoint to locate The Stargazer docked at one of the many docking towers. The party soon met Captain Merfiz Wigglewander, captain of The Stargazer. The captain gave the party an extensive tour of the ship including discussing its history and the crew. After being asked when they could depart, Captain Merfiz explained that most of the crew were on shore leave. He was confident that he could muster the crew and have the skyship ready to depart at first light the next morning.

As today’s session begins, it is early evening on the 6th day of the 1st Trigon of Elok’s Influence. Captain Merfiz has just finished up his tour and departed The Stargazer to round up the crew. The party stands on the aft deck overlooking Praddlepoint as the sun begins to set on the strange industrial city. The duty crew has already begun preparations for the morning departure. There is much to be done.
