Recap of Session 03

As session 3 began, the party stood just outside of the Wind Kept Citadel having just departed from their visit with Seer Yennall.  It was late morning on a brisk but sunny day in Whalespell.  The city was busy with activity as the group gathered together to decide what is next.

Douglan, trying to collect his thoughts after his discussion with the Seer, decided to head to the local temple of Gath to speak with the clerics.  Although the cleric that spoke with Douglan could not give him exactly the information he was looking for, he was assured that there did exist on Emathan a way to travel to The BetweenAs Douglan met with the cleric, the rest of the party explored the area around the temple doing a little shopping and getting a feel for the area.  Ferrik asked if Nightingale, Corvus, and Douglan would join Dawn and him at The Wanderers’ guild house for a celebration of their acceptance into the guild.  The party agreed.

That night as promised, the party traveled to the guild house enjoying the fine meal and drink provided.  Ferrik presented the Mask of the Nightbringers to Axton Embershadow, the head of the local guild.  With their acceptance into The Wanderers now complete, the mask was tossed into the fire burning with an eerie moan.  As the party continued to enjoy the guild’s hospitality, Nightingale was presented with a message scroll.  A message that had come from a fellow Penumbra bard named Wren asking for help.

As instructed in the message, the party traveled to The Yawning Dog tavern to meet with WrenWren told the party that she needed their help to rescue two young sisters that were being held captive in an old millhouse just outside of the city.  Wren had tried to conduct a rescue by herself but had to turn back when she encounter undead creatures protecting the area.

After agreeing to help, the party departed at first light.  Traveling along the coastline east of town, the party came upon the millhouse as described.  Immediately, an undead creature could be seen walking around outside.  The party wasted no time and battled their way into the millhouse fighting multiple undead creatures along the way.

Nightingale made his way up a staircase and encountered a heavily cloaked figure.  As the others started up the stairs to support Nightingale, the cloaked figure warned that the party had interrupted his experiment.  Then just before disappearing, the figure warned that they would meet again.
