As the last session began, it was early evening on the 40th day of the 2nd Trigon of Elok’s Influence. The party has just arrived back in the sewer room where they fought the Otyugh. As she had said she would do, Janka had already departed for the skyship.
Travelling back through the sewers, the party arrived at the point where they had left Balko. As expected, neither Balko or Janka were there. Ronin was familiar with the sewers and led the party back to the point they had entered the city.
As the party approached the exit from the sewers, they could hear what sounded like orcs yelling at something or someone. With the help of Ronin’s pass without trace magic, Douglan quietly moved to the exit to survey the scene.
A large group of orcs along with several huge orc creatures were scattered through out the valley below with Janka and Balko as their prisoners. Without further thought, Douglan rushed in to help with the remainder of the party quickly joining behind him.
The party fought well against with orcs, but unfortunately, one of the orcs slit Balko’s throat and ran before they could get to him. Once the orcs were dead, the party made a fast escape down through the valley to the waiting Stargazer not wanting to deal with anymore Iceborn Orcs.
The skyship departed at once for Xanthrum and the Vanguard camp outside the city.
Arriving in Xanthrum mid afternoon the next day, Janka and the party updated Commander Raff on what they had discovered about the Dark One. It was disturbing news, but at least now, the Vanguard knew what they were up against.
Commander Raff relayed to the party that High Commander Dragana had asked that Ronin travel with the party and assist where possible. Both the party and Ronin were pleased with the arrangement.
With business complete in Xanthrum, the party departed for Zrey in the Sea of Sand to look for Landis.
As the skyship sailed into the night, the party members headed to bed. Just as the last of them fell asleep, they all snapped awake at the rift in the Sea of Sand in a scene that Douglan and Kogaan were familiar with.
Several huge demonic creatures ran out of the rift and began to attack just as a huge humanoid demon appeared behind them. Douglan and Kogaan tried to inform the others that it was not real, just a dream. Aldric decided to test the situation by refusing to fight. The demons seemed to care less and continued to attack.
Several huge attacks by the humanoid demon dropped Ronin to the ground. Kogaan decided to join Aldric in refusing to join the fight. The humanoid demon turned on Aldric and after several attacks, the scene went quiet.
The humanoid demon stood high looking at the remaining party members and proclaimed, “Will you be ready when the time comes?”
With that the party all snapped awake in their beds onboard the Stargazer.
