Gold Dragonborn Level 6 Fighter – Rune Knight
Age: 24 Height: 7 feet Weight: 300 lbs
Gross Physical Features:
Kogaan is a massive Dragonborn with gold scales and a pair of golden-brown horns that spiral backwards from the top of his wide, scaly head. He’s 7 feet tall and boasts a powerful, broad 300lb frame. Although his draconic features make it difficult to judge his age, he carries himself with the easy athleticism of youthful verve. There’s a friendly, mirthful glint in Kogaan’s pale, sky-blue eyes.
Arms, Armour and Clothing:
In stark relief of his golden scales, Kogaan wears a simple, dark, and lustrous, full plate over top of a black woolen, quilted gambeson. A flail dangles at his right hip and he carries a plain kite shield in his left hand. The outline of a heavily laden pack can be seen underneath a worn and stained, gray traveler’s cloak.
Each of the four fingers and thumb of his large right hand are adorned with a wide ring, each one a different metal. The rings of the index and middle finger each bear a unique rune inscribed into them.
Origins:
Kogaan hails from a gold dragonborn town called Hofkiinseyuvonlok (Home of the Golden Sky). It is secretly tucked away in the mountains north of The Barrens on the northeast coast of The Inland Sea. There is only one community that knows these Dragonborn folk well, and that is the town of Salt’s Pride, located on the shore of the aforementioned coast.
Although lacking in the intrinsic magical gifts that most Dragonborn seem to possess, Kogaan’s blessed size and athleticism made him an invaluable member of his community’s protection. Eventually, he became a Dragon Rune Knight – a type of martial power that hadn’t been practiced since the Dragonborn came to Emathan during the Second Gathering a thousand years ago.
After becoming Sik Kendov (Rune Knight), Kogaan felt inspired to embark on the Yah Do Balaan (Quest of Worth). He told his wise mentor, Vuvahzen, of his wishes, and she was very proud to help impart to him the knowledge and skills required to prepare oneself for this hallowed journey. He spent the next year under this tutelage.
During this year, there was a growing concern within the town of Golden Sky; clutches were no longer hatching. Female Dragonborn have a very finite amount of eggs which they can lay for fertilization from a partner, and they were going to waste. Neither elder healers nor Gath’s few clerics could discern the cause or solution.
One night while asleep, towards the end of Kogaan’s preparation for the Yah Do Balaan, he was visited in a dream by the Ancient Gold Dragon, Hahnuziiaak. Hahnu told Kogaan that all of dragon-kind was afflicted with this anomaly, including the egg of the Yuvon Dov Zii (Golden Dragon Spirit). He was then shown a vision of four particular adventurers, traveling together, and was told to find them. For the fate of all dragon-kind was interwoven with the destinies of these adventurers.
And so, Kogaan made his final farewells and departed aboard a ship from Golden Sky’s coastal neighbour, Salt’s Pride, and made his way down into The Protected Lands. He has spent the past few months doing Good and helping those along the way while in search of the four adventurers and their shared destiny, whatever it may be….
