The Vanguard are a military organization focused on keeping The Dooms from finding and exploiting the rifts when they have appeared through out Emathan’s history. They have been keeping this vigil since the first rifts appeared close to 2000 years ago.
The Vanguard operate through out all of Emathan at varying capacities. The bulk of the Vanguard are based in the Protected Lands with the Kingdom of Alagon being considered their main base of operation.
Admission into the Vanguard is a highly sought after position for the military men and women of Emathan. Each year during the Festival of Balance, a competition is held in the Kingdom of Alagon where only the top ten competitors are chosen. Hundreds compete each year with hopes of becoming one of the ten.

Arden Galecrest – Vanguard Lieutenant that helped defend the winery during the Githyanki attack through the portal.
Tava Dewcutter – Vanguard Spy referred to as “The Wind”. Tava told the party that Dooms of the Kingdom of Evendor were under the direction of a new Shadow who was having them go dark across the kingdom.
