Recap of Session 47

As the last session began, it was early in the morning on the 30th day of the 2nd Trigon of Elok’s Influence. The party had just finished breaking camp and was preparing to depart Nool’s Cavern for the two-day trip back to the Githinthor hideout.

Early in the afternoon, Douglan’s halberd spoke for the first time, warning him that danger was approaching from directly ahead. A quick look confirmed that Githyanki on Worg mounts were moving in their direction.

The party spread out around the rocky outcroppings ahead and engaged the riders. The Githyanki and their mounts hit hard, but the party answered with big hits of their own. The new enchantments bestowed on their weapons by Nool were working well.

The party captured one of the Githyanki and questioned him. The Gith became quite smug and told the party they were in search of any other Gith in the area so they could be destroyed. General Varimoc was pleased to have encountered the Githyanki so far from their bases, as it confirmed that they were getting frustrated with their inability to destroy the other Gith clans.

The group arrived back at the hideout without any further trouble. They were met by Captain Jainde, who informed everyone that a large group of Githinthor had survived the battle at Vor’i’lun and had returned to the Timeless Temple. Captain Lakaloc and two of the Githnoro had departed to give them assistance and direction.

The general took Douglan and Kogaan to meet his wife, Qidre, and his daughter, Palu. Qidre was still recovering from wounds she had suffered during the battle at Vor’i’lun. Douglan was able to help with her healing as the Githinthor were struggling to keep up with the injured.

The general informed the party that they would be celebrating that night. A celebration of Douglan and Kogaan earning their great weapons. In the morning, Palu would escort them back to the portal at Gon’a’andun so they could return to Emathan. The party needed to get the Vanguard to meet with the Githinthor at Tionchar Winery. Time was running out.

At first light, the party departed for the portal. As they neared the old temple, several Wyverns flew over the treetops, heading toward it. They appeared aware that the group was below, but the thick forest canopy stopped them from landing.

Arriving at the old temple, the group saw the two Wyverns sitting outside. There were no signs of any riders, although the saddles on the Wyverns' backs confirmed they were there somewhere. The party approached and engaged the Wyverns in a battle that saw the party down the creatures quickly. Again, the party’s new weapons packed heavy hits.

Entering the old temple, the party encountered the same strange creatures they had fought their first time there. Three creatures floated around a dead Githyanki, tearing it to pieces with their huge beaks. On the party’s arrival, they all turned and attacked.

This time, the original creatures were joined by others with a mass of green glowing antennae above their beaks. The new creatures attempted to drive confusion and fear into the party with powerful spells. Only Palu was affected. Something she was very embarrassed about.

The party cut down the creatures one by one, making their way to the portal just in time to see one of them dragging a dead Githyanki into the portal.
