It is Sargona Oakfury from the Fortune’s Fare. Sargona asks the party if they would come to meet with Beldrack Bloodbeard; the father of Hulren Bloodbeard and Darrom Moltenmane. The party agrees, and shortly after Lafferty’s return to the inn, they accompany Sargona to meet Beldrack.

Beldrack apologizes for Hulren’s behavior and offers the party 250 gold pieces each to “forget” that the morning’s incident occurred. Beldrack tells the party that he has removed Huldren as head of the business and placed his brother, Grolleth Bloodbeard, in his place. Beldrack assures the party that Hulren has been sent back to Forgehaven and will not be seeing the light of day for some time.

With business completed at the Fortune’s Fare, the party departs and decides to go looking for Diza in order to give her a cut of the gold. The party heads to One Coin Two Coin, the biggest gambling hall in town, figuring that if Diza is still in Coldhorn, she is likely there. They are correct. After a short exchange, Nightingale gives Diza her cut of the Fortune’s Fare’s gold, and the party departs.

After leaving the gambling hall, the party decides to go meet with Qidan Duskwish at the Into the Wilds Guiding Company which doubles as The Wanderer’s guild hall. Qidan is happy to meet with the party. He tells them that their best chance of finding the Keepers of the Moon druids is to travel to Stormside and hire a boat to take them to an old megalith on the shores of The Midnight Depths at the edge of Winterberry Wood. Qidan believes that the druids use the megalith from time to time and believes it is their best place to start. He warns the party that “You do not find the druids. They find you”.

With their destination now clearer, the party headed to Windwalker Travels to confirm passage on the Summer Winds to Stormside.

The next morning, the party boarded the Summer Wind and after a day’s voyage arrive in Stormside; a dwarven city on the southwest shore of The Midnight Depths. Guards at the city gate encourage the party to stay at The Iron Rose inn as it is more suited for their type. At the inn, the party is told that they should have no issues finding a boat that can take them to the megalith. The party enjoys a fine supper and retires to their rooms for the night.

In the morning, the party heads to the docks where they meet Marcellius “Marc” Graywood, the captain of a small sailboat. Marc knows of the druid megalith and agrees to take the party there. After a short shopping trip, the party departs.

During the voyage, Douglan is contacted by his daughter Maggie through some sort of magic. Her voice is distorted, but her message is heard. “Father! If you can hear me, please know I'm alright. Messages are difficult to send from here. Please say something if you can hear me.” Douglan replies, but nothing further is heard.

As day becomes evening, Marc warns that the party will need to take shelter from an approaching storm. Anchoring the sailboat in a small cove, the party makes a comfortable camp and settles in for the night.

Shortly after dark, Nightingale’s whip warns the party that there are intruders on the eastern ridge. It is two orcs and their owlbear mounts. The orcs quickly dismount the owlbears who immediately charge the party. The fight is on.

Douglan immediately takes up a position between the owlbears and the rest of the party. Despite getting knocked to the ground multiple times, he manages to hold the owlbears back as the rest of the party attacks. As the sounds of battle quiet, two owlbears and their orc masters lie dead on the beach.

As today’s session begins, it is the 34th day of the 1st Trigon of Nool’s Influence at approximately 11pm. The heavy storm continues to batter down on the party as they stand before their fallen foes. A scan of the ridges around the beach show no further signs of trouble.
Added:
As the session began, the day was warm and sunny in Coldhorn with the earlier haze of the morning having burned off. Lafferty headed back to The Wandering Giant inn having completed his business with Margrave at The Twisting Nether. The rest of the party sat holed up in their room trying to determine what their next move should be.

A knock is heard on the room door.
